Romanticizing Your Life

The first half of 2023 has brought on some amazing travels and experiences I wasn’t anticipating. For one thing, I got to go to Europe (London and Paris) for the first time!

I remember feeling super down on NYE 2022. I looked back on the year and felt it just passed me by, while I compared my life, experiences, and travel to so many others who were jet setting all over the world.

I vowed to start making things happen, big and small, in the coming year. Specifically, I vowed to find small moments each day, even at home and during the work way, to find joy. I pledged to romanticize each day.

Romanticizing your life is largely focused around finding joy, love, and peace within yourself. It’s the process of structuring not only your days and routines, but how you see the world so that you’re always putting yourself in the path of beauty. Make yourself a barista-like coffee and sit outside for a few minutes prior to beginning your day. Bake a decadent cake. Soak in the tub with a good book and a filthy martini. Treat yourself to a new pair of sunglasses or a dress.

I think you’ll find a rush of those happy endorphins carrying you through a rough day or long week. It’s so important we change our mindsets from “the grass is greener…” to making sure we’re watering our own green grass.

What are some of your “happy hacks”?
